Spring 2020 Plan/Explanation for River Cities Soccer Club

Hello All!

This is a long post so I wanted to provide this plan/explanation in a format that was able to be read and digested better than on regular social media.
River Cities Soccer Club was created in 2017 by parents and players of the tristate area. We saw a need for low cost & high quality soccer club for the tristate.

We follow a simple motto:
PLAYER DEVELOPMENT (player & person) through Quality Instruction

PROFESSIONAL & EXPERIENCED COACHESAll Team coaches hold licensure and/or extensive years of experience working with youth. Our coaches are not mere collectors of complete athletes, they are committed to developing young athletes and preparing them to play and experience the game.
The Club provides recreational and classic level soccer programs as well as the ability to provide a high level of competitive play. Our club is active in building player development and the soccer enterprise from recreational through elite play.

  1. to provide a local, player development environment for soccer enthusiasts. We are a network for the Tri-State area competitive soccer players.
  2. The club is committed to providing young men and women with knowledge of the game of soccer while providing life lessons that can be used long after their soccer careers.
  3. Our club focus' an emphasis on the team while developing individual skills.

The club is the only volunteer ran true not-for-profit organization in the tri-state that relates to soccer. If interested in contributing to the development of soccer players and truly giving back to your community contact us.

This Spring we are adjusting  to better focus on development and fun. We consist of four divisions: Little Rivers, The Lions, The Fury, and The Outkasts.

The Little Rivers Division:

Little Rivers consists of players ages 3-6 years of age. This division plays INDOORS and playing a futsal-hybrid style game. We do this for several reasons:

  • Indoors allows us to concentrate on players and behavior
  • Indoors allows us to be close to bathroom facilities
  • The indoor futsal game allows for maximum touches and ball development.
  • The indoor allows for NO GAME OR PRACTICE cancellations due to the unpredictable spring weather.
Little Rivers have practice twice a week and games on Saturday mornings. Practices are 30 minutes in length and so are games.

The Lions Division:

The Lions Division is our largest division consisting of U8, U10, and U12 aged players. This season our U8 (or under the age of 8) group will be instructed via Academy style. Meaning: All of the players will practice together over the span of several hours. Then games will be played by dividing up into teams according to abilities.

U10 & U12 will practice and play in a traditional 'league play'. Coaches will schedule practice times and games will be played on Friday's and Saturdays.

The Fury Division:

The Fury Division is for our middle school aged kids. We at River Cities are HUGE proponents of school sports. Some club aren't...though they say they are. This division is a supplement to the middle school soccer programs in our area. The Fury is a fully inclusive division that travels around the tri-state to play it's games. This division does not have tri-outs or cuts. We are here to develop your player. Period.

The OutKasts Division:

The Outkasts division is our High School aged division. We currently have four teams that travel to tournaments throughout the tri-state and around the country. Once again, this is a FULLY INCLUSIVE team. You want to play we will find a place for you.

Sign-ups will be happening the first week of March. Full registration is held ONLINE via our website-
All youth divisions (Little Rivers, Lions, and Fury) will use the registration button labeled "LIONS". Our High School Division will use the registration button labeled 'OUTKASTS'.

The cost for registration is $75 for all youth divisions. Cost for team shirts is additional. The registration fee covers:

  • team/player insurance
  • payment of referees
  • general operating costs

During the late spring and summer. We maybe forming teams to travel to tournaments throughout the state and region. This is an additional cost if need be.

We look forward to working with you and your player in the future.
